A breather from flying this week. A great chance to catch up on "ground" stuff - like this blog.
We live an interesting life. On one hand I think we are living the adventure of our dreams. On the other hand I think we must be crazy doing this. I think living by faith is just that. So we have been living the faith venture in Zambia 10 months now and this month is the anniversary of our departure from the USA to Zambia.
What a road! Very similar to the roads in Zambia. Some of the time smooth and most of the time a bit rough.
The Lord is bringing together a good team for Flying Mission Zambia. Last week the Smith family joined us, eventually to move to Chitokoloki. (A mouthful). So we now have people in Macha, Mukinge, Lusaka and soon Chitokoloki. The Schneiders decided this is the place the Lord wants them so they come in November to work logistics and guest house development. We now have 4 aircraft. 2 C206's and 2 C210's.
The homeschooling year ended with a last push and gasp. Well done. So EvaLynn, Kathryn, and Sally get a nice break.
So we moved three times. I never imagined I would ever do that in one year let alone with a cat and dog in tow!. Our good God came up with a superb location in Lusaka at our final stop.
We wrestled and worked to get internet and email service to our house. We saw a tower go up AAAAAND then down! Finally up to stay. Internet service is a delightful development in Africa. Internet access is getting better and better, faster and faster. Thanks to an organization we support with our flying, this kind of access is getting to rural places in Zambia, not just the big population centers. Macha and Mukinge happen to be two of them.
We waited mostly patiently for a container to ship from the states to here. I think it was 9 months intransit. We waited a year for Zesco, the electic company here, to install three phase electrical power as a beginning to a future hangar and the equipment to be used. Perseverance continues to be an essential part of living by faith.
We began renovating a Flying Mission farm house to eventually become a guest house.
And I have flown all over Zambia from North to South and East to West. Places like Zambezi, Mongu, Kalabo, Livingstone, Macha, Chipata, Kasama, Mpika, Mkushi, Ndola, Kitwe, Solwezi, Sakeji, Kalene Hill, Chizera, Kabompo, Chavuma, Loloma, Mukinge and of course Lusaka. Try to find those places on google earth.
So we marvel at how much can happen in a year with the Lord leading the charge.
